What makes a good writer?

What i think makes a good writer is using words to illustrate a picture in your mind or make you feel some something, a connection to the story. If you can't visualize what your reading, then its not a good piece of writing, or it you feel nothing you can totally tune it out, its not good enough. Also the writer needs to enjoy what he/she is writing and not care what others think of it as long as they know its good.

i agree with you on that being able to visualize the authors writing helps you understand the story better.

I like the way you think. That was basically all I had to say... OH! Do you ever have days where you don't enjoy your work? Does that feeling of resentment towards your own work mean you are not a good writer? Think about it...
